After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in 1991, Christi Hough studied Residential Interiors at the Art Institute of Atlanta in 2005-6, and completed many hours of decorative and faux painting courses. While completing projects that refined her skills in decorating and faux finishing for residential clients, she realized what she really wanted was to be a painter.
In 2009, Christi took her first plein air workshop and was hooked. The year 2010 was a major turning point for her. Since then, her landscape paintings have been shown at Teal Gallery, Sedgwick Gallery, and Grandview Gallery in the metro-Atlanta area. Awards include 2nd place Painting at the Chattahoochee Nature Center’s Double Vision show in 2016 and a Merit Award for Just Small Works at the Atlanta Artist Center in 2012.
Christi completed her Master of Fine Arts in Painting at the Academy of Art in San Francisco in May 2017.
