About Claudia Rilling

Claudia Rilling is a professional fine artist and part-time faculty member at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, and the Pennsylvania College of Art and Design in Lancaster, PA. Her art is represented by Elins Eagles-Smith Gallery in downtown San Francisco. Her current work consists mainly of cityscape, landscape, and still life. Her work is based on the relationships of planes, light, and form, placed within carefully constructed compositions.

Claudia has become increasingly focused on outdoor landscape painting, making this a regular part of her painting practice. Most recently she taught outdoor landscape painting for the Jerusalem Studio School in Civita Castellana, Italy. These more immediate “alla prima” style paintings are integral to her body of work, influencing the studio work where she will work for months on one painting.

Currently, Claudia Rilling resides outside of Philadelphia.
