Deborah Samia, a California native, moved to the Bay Area for artistic training and received her BFA in Sculpture from the Academy of Art University in 1998.
After graduation, she found various jobs assisting artists, sculpting monuments, creating Halloween masks, and producing miniature figurines.
Since 2003, she has been teaching figure modeling, portrait, and écorché at the Academy of Art University, continuing to sculpt miniature figurines for the company, Lenox, and creating personal work on the side.
She was also honored to assist sculpting Remember Them: Champions for Humanity, a significant new monument located in Oakland.
