Hsin-Yao Tseng, was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1986. He received his BFA and MFA from the Academy of Art University.
Tseng, having already developed a signature style, has had his work recognized by major art magazines a number of prestigious galleries. He paints in a romantic, expressive manner that honors the Western tradition while signaling an edgy, contemporary complexity.
Tseng has a curiosity and energy that propels him toward experimentation and innovation. Accordingly, he works in a range of genres from lush evocations of cities – such as San Francisco – to expressive portraits and lustrous interiors in which multiple figures convey a story.
Tseng’s prose testifies to the fact that he is ambitious in the best sense and is eager to push his art beyond what is immediate and popular toward the timeless and the real. His dedication and interest in the arts are evident his 10+ of hard work and academic studies.
Tseng is represented by Waterhouse Gallery in Santa Barbara, California; Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona; Insight Gallery in Fredericksburg, Texas; Garden Gallery in Half Moon Bay, California; Christian Daniels Gallery in San Francisco, California; and Howard/Mandvile Gallery in Kirkland, Washington.
