Hsing-Yu Chen was born in Taipei, Taiwan in 1992. “My artwork is mainly about my daily life experience and emotions. To me it is like keeping a diary. Among all art, I am most interested in painting: specifically figure and landscapes. I am more of an adventurer, exploring the canvas, trying various different techniques. My paintings tell people my stories and express the feelings that go along with each subject.”
Graduating with a BFA in 2014 and spending time as an art administrator and assistant curator in Taipei, Chen re-enrolled in, and received a MFA from, the Academy of Art and is currently pursuing freelancing opportunities in San Francisco.
