Hailing from Anchorage, Alaska where she pursued a degree in Architecture, Slaymaker moved to the Bay Area in 2006 to study illustration at the Academy of Art.
It was during her last semester that she came across a series of works completed with cast resin. Inspired by this medium she has been creating abstract works of art ever since.
She graduated with a BFA in Illustration and took the second place award for abstract art at the Academy of Art Annual Spring Show in 2011.
